DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skills groups teach practical, life-changing tools to help you regulate emotions, handle stress without falling apart, improve relationships, and stay grounded in the present moment. This group is perfect for anyone who feels emotions intensely, struggles with impulsivity or conflict, or just wants more stability and self-awareness in daily life. Come as you are—grow into who you're becoming.

This group is for adults who:

  • Feel overwhelmed by intense emotions

  • Struggle in relationships or feel misunderstood

  • Experience patterns of avoidance or impulsivity

  • Want tools to navigate life with more clarity and control

Module 1

2 weeks Mindfulness (open to new clients)

6 weeks distress tolerance

  • Crisis survival, pros and cons

  • TIP skills 

  • Distracting, self-soothing, improving the moment

  • Reality acceptance

  • Willingness, half smiling, willing hands

  • Mindfulness of thoughts

Module 2

2 weeks Mindfulness (open to new clients)

  • Mindfulness “How skills”

7 weeks emotion regulation

  • Understanding and labeling emotions

  • Check the facts

  • Opposite action

  • Problem solving

  • Accumulating positive emotions (short term)

  • Accumulating positive emotions (long term)

  • Building mastery, cope ahead, PLEASE, mindfulness of emotions

Module 3

2 weeks Mindfulness (open to new clients)

5 weeks emotion regulation

  • Understanding obstacles, clarifying goals

  • DEAR MAN

  • GIVE

  • FAST

  • Evaluating options

Clients will be expected to commit to at least 1 module. During the 2 weeks of mindfulness, new clients can join the group provided there is space available.
